Mima Polymorpha Meningitis

Abstract
The authors reported a case of Mima polymorpha meningitis in a Korean girl age 6 rears, 8 months. This is the first of such cases reported in the Orient, the third in the pediatric age group in world literature, and the only case which survived among three who had the manifestations of petechiae and purpurae.
As the other authors had already experienced, we also confused this Mima polymorpha meningitis with ameningococcal meningitis in the beginning, until the complete bacteriological study disclosed the real natureof the offending organism. Bacteriological and clinical findings of Mima polymorpha, the differential diagnosis between Mima polymorpha and Neisseria meningitidis, and the approach to therapy of the Mima polymorpha meningitis were discussed in detail
